It’s here! ADMIRE ’09 - the Real Life gathering of many Second Life musicians for a weekend of celebration, fun, creativity and live performance in the Netherlands from Friday 31st July to Sunday 2nd August 2009.
With over 25 musicians attending from the Second Life (SL) music scene - this promises to be a carnival of music. The weekend theme is “collaboration” between musicians who have never played together and, of course, audience members, too. The music will start on Friday evening and continue on Saturday at 1pm and continue all day, concluding in one big jam in the Conference Hall on the premises on Saturday August 1, 12pm SLT (9pm local time).
Musicians you may hear over the weekend from SL include XanderNichting Writer, Slim Warrior, Al Hoffman, Inchino Melson, Brad "JooZz" Monnett, Mar Biddle, Russell Eponym, Carah Nitely, Aurora Metaluna, Kaycee Drayman and Wannahave Ferraris, Russell Eponym, Bara Jonson, and many more.
The real life venue is the Panhoven in Zevenaar, The Netherlands – a reasonably-priced camping and hostel-type accommodation – to make it attractive to musician and audience members, alike, who are invited to listen and enjoy the
experience.
Says Inchino Melson, jazz singer in Second Life, “The musicians I’ve met through Second Life are an inspiring pool of talent that, if it were not for this one weekend, I’d never have the chance to work with. This is truly a global gathering of the crème de la crème.”
Al Hofmann, guitarist, also says “I'll come to Admire, following the motto "Collaboration", to play with some great performers from the grid and to interact with the audience, too. A great opportunity to expand and develop our horizons....”
Portions of the ADMIRE event will be streamed into SL and there will be video uplinks, too. The main SL location is the SLiteracy / PrimTings sims kindly provided by Ina Centaur (exact location is on the La Performance Stage in the sky above the center of the 4 connected Sims):
