Weird scenario... I've had someone who pays me money when I am offline, either when I've lent someone lindens, or someone has actually paid me before the gig (before I even logged on).
When you log on, you don't get a notice of these received lindens. If you go to your account on the web site, they are listed there.
I'm not really one to check the balance each time i log off and on, so unless i check my account, I don't see those.
Does anyone know a way to receive a message when you receive Lindens when you are offline? |

the only way I get a notice is if someone has paid an object which is set to send an IM that it's received money. I have a purchased tip jar that I use in the park that does this. The venue donation sign doesn't (well, not that I know of, could be that just no one has every paid it when I wasn't online ) If someone pays via your profile there's no notice of the payment because the blue pop up notices do not go out in IM. _________________ Just call me Jo

I'm pretty sure that's a system notice and doesn't count as an IM. Same thing for transfering $Ls from SLX.
I just make it a habit of downloading the XML file of my non-0 $L transactions every 2-3 weeks (you loose them after 4 weeks, beware).
And, during the day, I check my transactions at least once before I log in.
Of course, I do this because I sell/buy a lot of land and have a few other enterprises around the grid ... need to see what's happening. Someone who doesn't do this may not feel as strong a need to check things as closely. _________________ Ray

I download my non-zero transactions every two weeks (so I can do accounting for my venues, texture biz and lighting store). I don't know of any way to get notices of linden transactions via email except what Jo described. And I assume you're talking about payment made to your profile so Jo's suggestion wouldn't work. _________________ Joy is in the ears that hear

.. oh yeah... and just as another thought on this.
.. I guess I / we should keep in mind that if you are paying someone who if off line (especially if you are paying them through their profile), they might not realize that you have paid them. |

I think if anything... the LSL script involved would be something along the lines of this:
any transaction message turns into an IM, and then that IM gets sent to your email. ...so, logistically, you'd need a prim, with a script inside, and the script has your avatar ID to it.... and when you get a transaction message, that script turns it into an IM. .. dunno if that's even possible. but in SL, people make impossible stuff. _________________

Yep, anytime I pay someone who's offline (paying directly to their profile), I im them to let them know that I've paid them, why I paid them and how much I paid them. With all the asset db and linden transfer problems, I trust SL not at all. _________________ Joy is in the ears that hear
