AWESOME!

I love it when they get it right, rather than making us seems like a buncha dorks rolling 12 sided dice ...or a buncha digital bonobos humping each other all day. ... or whatever. You know what I mean Razz

very cool.

was there. she also fed out the post-interview.

that kind of "extra" material gets lost in the 2-minute boiled-down versions.

Ecellent article. Good news for Cylindrian. Every bit of publicity helps. It's nice to see something positive being reported about SL that isn't an obvious puff from the LL publicity machine. Cylindrian makes US$10K a year from her SL gigs? Wow!

I scanned through the article and at one point John Sutter (the reporter) mentions how Cylindrian keeps on strumming between numbers. It's a common problem that affects most SL performers.

Red Xu and Cabaret Voltaire have developed an ingenious system where the avatar animations are controlled and synched by MIDI so that their animations not only start and stop at the beginning of each number but can be programmed in advance to switch between animations on the fly. Catch one of their shows to watch their system in action. Once Red irons out the bugs I can see that it will prove to be useful and popular with many, if not most, SL performers. It is a system which could also be used for machinima productions as well as choreographed performances.
