Showcasing independant, and SL artists in our format, we are a young station with ambition, & a vision of the horizon.

First Call Musician's CO-OP, in conjunction with FCMC Radio, humbly presents the 1st in a series of Public Service Announcements geared to enhance the state of the SL live music scene as a whole. The first, released just this AM, aims to raise awareness amongst the population, of the existance of live music in SL. As we are all trying to reach many common goals, these PSA's are available to ANY SL streaming radio station. If you are streaming radio into SL, and would like, simply IM Reslez Steeplechase for copy.
This PSA occurs hourly on FCMC Radio (top of the hour), we welcome you to tune in, turn on, and comment on its values, or how we could possibly do better on the next production.
Ears to you!

FCMC is now offering in-world mp3 sales for SL's performing artists original works. There are vendor kiosks out across the grid, currently carrying 19 artists on 21 albums. If you would like your music in the vendors, or would like a vendor at your venue to stand in support of SL's performing artists, IM Reslez Steeplechase in world, and get yourself setup today.
Merry Christmas to All. May the turning of the winter solstice bring to you an overwhelming sense of peace, joy, and undying interest in the well being of humanity
Peace be

FCMC Radio has been streaming metaverse independant artists tunes for near 2 years now. Neither the oldest nor the newest station, like others, we are passionately dedicated to the cause. We are a non profit station, borne of a cooperative of same name.
If you perform in the metaverse, and have recorded your original work, we would love to air it for the listening audiences pleasure, & your positive promotion.
Please send your submissions in 128kbps mp3 format, to findreslez@gmail.com
Please, please in that email, remember to tell me your avatar's name
Peace be,
Reslez Steeplechase

I tried several times using the IP address in the first section and it failed to connect despite re-entering it.
128K is pretty low quality as I won't even keep an MP3 that's less than 160K. How solid is that number? _________________ Silas Scarborough

Thank you for the heads-up Silas. We had server issues some months ago, and as a result our IP changed. We have updated the link at the top of this thread.
While we understand that your trained ear easily discerns the difference, for the average listener, the sound quality is never brought into question. If the artist has higher quality recordings, these are what you will find in their mp3 vendors. Not all artists do. Our radio broadcast software is happier if all the mp3's are at the same bit rate.
Again, thank you for the tip, and our apologies to yourself, and any other SLMC reader that may have been distracted by the outdated link. |

Might as well drop a plug out here for the Griffin Roadtrip. This gadget lets you use your Iphone / iPod on the road and it transmits via FM or hard-wire to your car stereo so you can hear SL music on the road. I don't know if the iPod Touch has the capability for picking up Internet radio stations. _________________ Silas Scarborough
