Hello there everyone! Jaycatt Nico here, SL musician from way back in July 2005 to current. I'm not sure where that puts me in the list of ancient SL musicians, but I do remember Astrin, Moe, and a few others who were pretty active back when live music was a novelty
I started playing in SL thanks to my RL friend since 3rd grade, Jeremy, who also goes by the name Frogg Marlowe. There weren't many musicians in SL back then, and every day I am astounded how many there are now! I don't know if it's true, but I suspect Second Life has one of the largest active musician rosters of anything online. In any case, SL makes it a hell of a lot more fun
I took piano lessons for many years as a kid, then gave it all up for teenager stuff for over 10 years before joining SL. I thank Second Life from the bottom of my heart for pulling me back into the musician fold, and giving me a reason to play for other than myself. I guess that sort of makes me an SL fanboy, but it really means a lot to me.
I mainly just play piano, solo new agey stuff, and accompany Frogg's guitar/harmonica. However, my old U of O Children's Choir past has been coming back to haunt me, as I attempt to sing as well (with um, mixed results)...
Thanks for creating this forum for stuff, I try to stop by every so often and see what people are debating or saying! |

The highlight of SLCC '07 to me was seeing Jay, Frogg, Cylindrian and Patrick LaSalle all playing together on stage.

Hey, Jaycatt! Well, add me to the list of people who were inspired by you earlier guys. I don't get to your shows often enough But, you put the "fun" in music (it's in there someplace -- m-fun-sic or something like that). So, that's great!
I'll be swinging by again sometime, you can bet. See yah then. _________________ Ray
