Somehow it's happening again to me where I can't hear any stream anywhere in Second Life and I have absolutely no idea how to solve this.
I am trying to get LL to help but they like to just copy and paste these articles and tell me to go read them. They have no answer for me.
I can't hear any streams inside SL. I can hear the same streams outside of SL. Inside of SL everyone else around me can but I can't.
Does anyone have any possible answer for this? Thanks. _________________ Enniv Zarf

Enniv, it would be useful for you to tell us what you have done to try and resolve this, and also something about your system and also your bandwidth.
It kinda sounds like there has been a port that has been blocked by your isp ... but again with the fact that you can hear outside of SL (streaming through itunes? ), seems to discount this.
List your spec, and your setup, and what you have in your prefs in SL, and it might be that someone can see something that you might have missed. |

I'm gonna be a complete 'Mr. Obvious' here... but not sure of what level of geekdom you are coming from. Here's what i would try/start with...
- Re-boot the computer (I'm sure you've done that)
- Re-boot the router/DSL modem/switch (all telecom gear). Just unplug em, wait 30 to 60 seconds and re-plug.
- Make sure most recent version of SL is installed.
- If most recent version of SL is installed, maybe try re-installing it. Some components might have gotten mucked up by other applications, and re-installing it might fix it.
... that's all i can think of now.. you probably already did those though... good luck! |
