i have a question about winamp using the shoutcast plugin. Has anyone heard of troubles with winamp and the shoutcast plugin recenty? All of a sudden I am unable to stream have been getting compatibility errors with Sonic but I was still able to stream until last night after I applied the latest bunch of upgrade patches from Microsoft. So I upgraded winamp to the latest version and still i'm not able to stream. I even blocked the Sonic stuff out of it when I reinstalled like i read in one place and still no go. I even took my laptop back to one restore point and still nothing. I am using a pc laptop. I also installed winamp on my new desktop which is also a pc and it doesn't work. Does anyone have any advice? |

Are you able to stream at all, or is it just that the stream breaks up and is inconsistent?
.. my blanket suggestion always seems to be... reboot the router/broadband modem/switch/ etc.., wait 30 seconds, then plug them back in.
Probly won't fix your problem, but it's a cheap and easy thing to try, and it does fix a surprising amount of streaming problems. |

| Thank you both Toby and Norris for replying to my cry of help. I was really panicking because i have three shows today one of which is a special party and I was not getting any sound whatsoever. I tried unplugging everything and I must have restarted my laptop a thousand times. I finally restored my laptop back to a certain point and restored winamp back a version and bought a $20 cord that goes from my laptop to my little box that connects to my mixer. It seems doing all that worked. But I am going to look into your suggestion too Toby cause that looks like a good way to record myself which I have been wanting to do too. So thank you both, much appreciated. |

After one of the MS updates a few months ago I had this issue it was some type of conflict with the sound card (and I wish I knew what fixed it, But I can't remember I think I had to wait until the next Tuesday update and it was fixed..
you shouldn't need to roll back those MS updates and I bet its not Winamp either I would think the MS update goofed something in the soundcard drivers..
I use winamp and sam 9but prefer win amp, I can set 5 diffrent streams and stream to 5 at once I record running kristal and live, but I am going to look at this soundforge thing an auto start recording would be nice, but what does it record at ??? _________________ "Being drunk is a good disguise.
