As an europeen I miss to be able to join existing SL-Open Mic -events.
(because of the timezonedifferents)
So now I will try Open Mics in europeen proper times!

OPEN MICs at STAGEBAR
EVERY MONDAY - 10 AM - 1 PM!

Welcome musicians to this europeen proper time musiciangroup!
And of course - I welcome other venueowners to open ears and eyes for this shows an musicians. Wink

the Open Mics at StageBar has become so popular so I´m not able to be in them myself anyway, hehe. I only take a slot if it wount be filled with other musicians, and so far it only happend once, the first one. Wink

Congrats, Satyra!

Open mic can be feast or famine for us at Los Arboles. It seems to ebb and flow based on RL events such as television shows, special performances at other venues, and just tired musicians that need a break. Very Happy

My goal was to get ours busy enough where I didn't have to play. Most weeks that works out just fine. Last night was a fantastic event and we had plenty of people to fill our slot, but by the time it was over I was itchin' to play, so I extended it another 20 minutes just so I could get some stage time.

You may find yourself in the same situation: So glad to have all the players, but wishing you had room for you sometimes! Very Happy

Ah, Rich, you are SUCH a musician!! I don't think I ever met one that could just sit on his/her hands if there was any chance of getting on the stage! No, that's not a cut at your collective hammishness, it's a loving observation of your collective hammishness *hug*!

The only reason I don't come to your open mic is that it's the only night my Spotlight Promotions partners and I have been able to set aside for our stupid weekly meeting in which we always seem to end up with waaaay too much business to be able to wrap in time to come over. One of these days, I swear, I'm gonna ditch them, hop on an alt and come see ya! Watch for a stranger with Rocky Shores Owner floating over her head.

On the other hand, Satyra, yours is at a GREAT time for me! If you create a group for it, send me an invite so I don't forget to drop in!

richdesoto - Thanks and yeah, hehe - I already noticed there is not time enough for playing myself at the open mics.

I would do what you describe, stretch the event to be able to play, if I had not so angry neighbours - they kill me if l sing/play after 1 pm. (Except for fridays/saturdays). Wink

ticious - The LIVE MUSICIANS-group is actually created mainly for the open mic-event, even if I also now use it for my own gigs, (and so can every other member do too), and other livemusicevents at StageBar.
But I always send out notices about the open mics to this groupmembers first of all, so please, join it. Wink

I have not heard either of you play yet, must do that! Smile

If you mean the Live Music Enthusiast (LME) group, I have been a member a long time now. It's not actually intended for open mic events at all, it's for live musicians to announce their performances. But I get so spammed by it, I have a tendancy to just close the notices without really looking at them much of the time. If you mean a different group, is LIVE MUSICIANS the full name? "LIVE MUSICIANS" isn't giving me a group by that name in Group Search.

If you don't have your own group set up (actually two of them one for you as a artist and one for the Stage Bar) you should very seriously consider doing so as fan groups are a very important promotional tool for both artists and venues.

hehe ok ticious - I thought you were both.

And about the group - there is a group namned exactly LIVE MUSICIANS that I started and I can find it when I search for it. It´s not the LME-group at all, it´s my own group, free from spam! If you not look at eventnotices as spam of course. hihi
Have sent you an invitation now. Wink

My other group - SATYRA SINGH *SBC (StageBarClub) is a group for both StageBar and me as a musician. If I had two separate groups for it I really think people would feel like I was spaming them. hehe.

I actually don´t work hard at all for promoting myself as a musician in SL. I never ask any venues to let me play - I only play were people ask me to themselfs. I´m a bad salesman. Cool

And I guess I do enough RL-gigs to fill my ego about standing on stage! hehe tss ... So a couple of gigs per week in SL feels ok so far. Wink

But I do work harder for StageBar though. To get it running with good musicians on europeen proper times.
