MULTI MEDIA ARTS CENTER 'MMAC 0.5Y' SIX MONTH CELEBRATION

(Somerset, SL) - Opened in April 2007, The Multi Media Arts Center, known as 'The MMAC', marks six months in Second Life on October 7th. The 'MMAC 0.5Y' celebration, an extended Weekend of activites, runs from October 5th through the 8th. Scheduled highlights include a two-day international music festival Saturday & Sunday, the initiation of live standup comedy, a job fair... closing with a fund raising formal on Monday. Founder & director, Dash Renoir is programming two full days of live music, running from noon to midnight, with a decidedly international theme, throughout the venues housed in The MMAC. Spanning various genres, artist that have agreed to participate so far include (at time of release), beginning on Saturday, October 6th with ETHERIAN KAMABOKO, FABRICE CROSBY, JUEL RESISTANCE, MIDKNIGHT AUER, NUSCORE KIDD, PRIMADONAHUE RASMUSON, SUBURBAN DOG, WENDY CURTISS ... continuing on Sunday, October 7th with ANAKIN GALLACHER, KOUROSH EUSEBIO, LOVESONGS WRITER, THUMPER BOUCHER, TONE URIZA... with more to be announced as booked and subject to change.

To date THE COMEDY LINK Laugh Club (in The MMAC) continues to feature comedy video on demand. However, starting Sunday Oct 7th live voice channnel and streamed performances begin with an afternoon stand up show featuring RL & SL comedians LAUREN WEYLAND, RANDOM STINE, SALAMANDER MAROON & others.

The MMAC MEMBERS INAUGURAL BALL closes MMAC 0.5Y on Monday October 8th @ 5pm. Open to all, this fund raising formal dance introduces the MMAC MEMBERS Group and benefits. Briefly, Members receive access to Members Only & Members Preferred activities in addition to group and land privileges. Suggested donation for the Members Ball is L$500 or included (free) with a Paid Membership (One Time L$1000 Lifetime Charter Membership Enrollment Fee thru Oct 31). Entertainment to be announced.

Other MMAC 0.5Y activities include special themed FUNK FRIDAYS(tm) & GROOVE SUNDAY dance sets, new indie films opening in THE FILM LINK Screening Room, a curated tour of the current MMAC Gallery photo installation (closing soon), exclusive live concert video in WORLD STAGE (on demand), fireworks in the TERRACE SCULPTURE GARDEN, and a job fair.

The Multi Media Artist Center is a multiple venue facility designed to showcase arts & entertainment. Its grand opening on April 7th attracted more Second Life residents than even it's four sims location could handle.

Venues inside The MMAC include the WORLD STAGE, THE JAZZ LINK Blues & Jazz Lounge, CARBARET CARLOTTA Coffeehouse Stage, and the MMAC OPEN AIR THEATRE. Along with The MMAC's LLG (Lobby Lounge Gallery), all have recently received makeovers.
