So when I post text or tip it's often repeated multiple times. If I buy something, I often purchase 3 or more of the same item. My multiple posts look like a speech impediment. Anyone heard of this or how to stop it?
I'm on a macbook pro
Thanks in advance

I"m not convinced this is the Mac. I've encountered quite a few people with that stutter. Someone once told me it was due to a wireless connection of some sort. . . but as to the truth or falsehoodness of that, I can't attest. _________________ Joy is in the ears that hear

You might want to run Windows on the Mac. I do it because I don't like using the CMD key with the Mac version of SL. Since you're undoubtedly using Nicecast, etc for streaming, you'd want to run VMware so you can run Mac OS and Windows at the same time. I'm not sure that a MacBook Pro would have enough juice for that, tho. Can anyone comment?
I have VMware but I'm not currently running it. I'm only scheduling as many gigs as my shoulders can tolerate so maybe I'll crank it up and get a report for you that way _________________ Ever vigilant for da gooses overhead.

This much I can tell you for sure: Running Windows on a Mac Quad Pro runs vastly better and is significantly more stable than it ever was running on a PC with an AMD Athlon X2 in it. The PC crashed daily, at least, typically due to driver problems and all software was as up-to-date as possible. Windows on the Mac has never crashed and I've been running it for months. I also have very few SL crashes and client-side lag is improved as well because it's a more powerful machine than the PC.
So, no worries on that front. Windows not only works on a Mac; in fact, it works better. _________________ Ever vigilant for da gooses overhead.

Hey Elvis.. you mean those times I heard you, you were playing through a wireless connection? Did you stream from a computer that was hooked up wirelessly?
If answer is yes.. would HIGHLY recommend finding an ethernet cable (as long as needed) to plug in when you play.
I would even recommend disabling the wireless option on your router/modem while you are playing.
There's just way too many things that can interfere with the wireless signal.... and sometimes even if you are plugged into the router, the wireless can still cause connectivity problems. (ex. a cordless phone rings, interferes with wireless, hangs up your router.. even though you are plugged into router.. you still lose your internet connection)
And SL is such a bandwith/processor hog.. than any little problem is sure to send it into fits. So best to get rid of as many variables as possible.
My opinion only, of course... |

Everything you need to know about wireless you can learn from using a cellphone!
Eh?
What did you say??
Sorry, you're breaking up!!
Oh, ok. You want to meet in the park and get naked?
Gee, sorry. You want your book back.
Ok, got it _________________ Ever vigilant for da gooses overhead.

Elvis, you definitely want to use the Ethernet cable any time you can, as opposed to AirPort. It has to do with packet delivery over the wire versus through the air. If it's at all possible, plug that baby in.
And yes, I'm also on a 2.4Ghz MacBook Pro. _________________
