hehehe ... couldn't resist putting this in here. At least I didn't go off-topic on the MAC Users side
I have to admit that PCs need a little more techie-ness and would seem unfriendly to many people. But, I love my PCs. And, I can twiddle with the insides of them to my hearts content.
Cost-wise, I say the two platforms are pretty close. Face it, good hardware and memory costs money, regardless of the machine it goes into. Maybe the PC has a price advantage in that more parts quantity sold usually means lower price (not always).
Yes, PC can be a bear to setup. But, even though it's frustrating, I love the end result: it works my way and I know how it works.
And, the newer machines are catching-up with the video performance that the Mac was born with. Face it, PCs started life as a business machine and evolved toward other uses.
Do I detect Macs trying to look like PCs? Now, why would they want to do that, I wonder?
*Is this turning into a rant?*
Naw ... just trying to put a few L$ of my opinion in here ... MAC people ... rant on your side. _________________ Ray

Well.... Im a PC user and always have been and always will be....
but i follow mac technology... and PC technology... which is all basically the same thing, but with protections slapped all over em so nothing is compatable with anything else. That's the problem with most PCs, is that they are stuck with all this microsoft shit on em.
.. but yeah, if you look at the history of the pc and the mac, you'll see that many of the hardware and software inventors for most of the particulars overlap with one another. MAC isn't trying to look like a pc now... its that the people that made PC stuff in the past are now working with mac. It's like an artist, they always sorta have their own style, and it shows no matter what company they're working with.
the reason i like PC and always will is because its more in my control. sure it screws up from time to time, but i know how to fix it. I dont like a computer where the only option is that it runs for me without me able to decide anything. im computer savvy enough to know how i want my machine to be, and pc is the only system that allows that. _________________ DJ Doubledown on The Sixty-One ~ SL DJ & Club Scene Blog
