Amsterdam offcourse *lolololol*
But it doesnt matter really as long as it is travelable.
But i don't think Holland would be a good choise.
We do have a lot of residents on SL, but a huge amount of them like to hide on SL, meaning that they don't want to meet people off SL in RL.
We don't have many musicians on SL and i guess the bizz side is also very low. _________________ ~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~

I would love to attend, but don't think I'll be able to travel to Europe for it *cries*. If I could, England would be my choice, but perhaps someplace a bit less expensive than London. _________________ Joy is in the ears that hear

Here's a weird thought. How about doing 2 concurrent sessions - 1 Euro and one US (or even add a 3rd for Asia/Australia) and rotate the stream between them, with a single in-world venue. Over a weekend, could get a lot of jamming/socializing in.
3 Meat-space venues, 1 in-world one. That's the kind of thing SL can actually be good at.
or not.
I'd vote for Des Moines <hehe> Hey, that's me and Niko Donburri, and Michelle D. is in the state. Minneapolis would be good too (Juel, Ray, etc.).
I've often thought it'd be cool to do something at the Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake, IA (the last place Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and the Big Bopper played) since it'd be between DSM and MPLS and not too bad to get to from Wisc or Chicago, etc. |

Sounds good to me
Others, like Kennn Twine and Lonnie Nightfire would like that too. _________________ Ray

Wow, great idea. I'd be all for something in the States, though. Some of the communities that Brian mentioned would actually be quite fantastic for pulling people from around the country. _________________ I have a lot going on! Find out more:

Don't want to hijack this, so may want to move into another thread, but I will say that if something does happen in the states (I'd say it's something to keep in mind for other locations as well) is to:
A. Not be insanely expensive (like SLCC)
B. Not be overly structured (or under-structured either).
Some good bets for this would be:
Going w/ smaller cities and smaller hotels for more reasonable rates (possibly even using some other sort of venue, and leaving sleeping arrangements to participants).
Leaving large chunks of time for unstructured jam/circle/social time, and if there's a "performance" let it evolve from that... |

chicago, Minneapolis, Indianapolis, Des Moines.
However, my take on the "Vegas" try last year was that it should have been concurrent with BEA/NAB . . . as both meetings bring loads of new media types to vegas. _________________ Edward Lee Lamoureux
