Hi folks!
My name is Eric, but you'll see me around here as the avatar 'EAR Oh'. It's an odd name I know; when I picked it, I was trying to roughly approximate 'e.a.rowe', which is the name I use in RL. Kind of awkward maybe, but at least it's memorable.
The stuff I play is mostly pretty simple, just me singing and playing acoustic guitar. I'm drawn to playing songs that are emotionally intense; the kind of thing I'd be playing at 3am on a sleepless night, except now I get to share it with you guys too. I like my sound to come across as just a bit raw - the current rig has my old Guild D-25 (strung heavy and tuned down) running into an even older TS-808 pedal, then the preamp of a Peavey bass amp, before finally hitting the mixer.
I'd been hoping to do live shows ever since I started SL in 2006, but it never actually came to anything until about a month ago, when I had my debut at the grand opening of the E&S Burlesque Factory in Maldo. The audience response was much better than I expected, and despite some minor technical glitches I had more fun performing than I have in years. Getting to meet other performers was also very cool - Moon Spark and Taunter Goodnight were both on the bill as well.
Since that show, I've been playing the Burlesque Factory regularly, typically around 8:30-9:00pm SLT on Saturdays. It's a bit strange to suddenly go from 'zero shows a month', to 'one or two shows a week', but I'm enjoying it very much, and looking forward to getting better acquainted with you all.

Cool, Eric!
I know exactly what you mean! It took me a while to get around to actually performing here (I joined in 2006, too).
I'll have to try to look you up ... I'm up at 8:30 pm SLT (that's 10:30pm my time) ... usually working on music.
And, Welcome! _________________ Ray

Thanks so much for the warm welcome!
It looks like this weekend will be a little busier even; I've got one show Saturday night, then another the following evening... might be time to buy some new strings... |

I deleted elepiano's post (probably spam). He/she was introducing her/himself , not welcoming Ear.
elepiano, if you truly are an SL involved peson and truly do wish to participate in the forum, please put up your own introduction and remove the spam links (buying rl pianos is considered non-topic related spam in this forum) from your sig. |
