This one is real easy... takes little effort, little time, and by the end, you're in your local paper written up as the head honcho of your town.
1) Write up a press release about everything you're doing in secondlife.... whether it's business, fun, music, art, whatever.... just write up a few paragraphs about your RL self, your SL self, why you enjoy SL, and what you're currently involved in in SL.
2) Go to the websites of your local papers and grab email addresses of the writers (specifically anyone in the entertainment section, tech section, modern times section)
3) Email your press release to all of the addresses you've collected (make sure to blind copy the email).
4) Wait for reporters to contact you :O)

Newspapers are always looking for stories... Secondlife itsself is a story. Having a local user is a story. So, just get em your info and let em know you're into SL, and you'll probably end up with an article in your local paper.
