Fiona, present and accounted for.
Hiya. So, I'm not at all new to SL, but I've been dragging my feet about getting into live music in SL.
RL: I've been singing most of my life, am classically trained (and excited to hear about a classical music venue-type place in SL!) but sing pretty much anything. I do appreciate a great vocal.
The deal is: all the techie stuff about live music in SL tends to throw me for a loop...and also I don't do "independent studies" very well so when I'm on my own things tend to *not* get done...BUT! Hey I found y'all! So I'm looking forward to stalking this forum and stalking all y'all inworld. Consider yourselves warned. I'm an infowhore and will suck up any information you will give me.
Oh, also...I'm on a 15" MacBook Pro. I only mention it b/c it makes the advice a bit different, I've discovered.
Okies. I'm out. Actually...I'm going inworld to hit some live music events. And then to iTunes to find more backing tracks (yes, I'm philosophically opposed to them but I'm a SINGER not a guitarist, or pianist...so what's a girl to do?) See you around. And thank you to everyone who has already shared their knowledge on this forum. I've never found anyone as willing to help out a fellow singer/musician as SLers (ok, some of them are buttheads, but I think you all know what I mean...).

That's as accurate an appraisal of the SL music scene as I have read recently!
Welcome to you Fiona from butthead central!

Hi, Fiona. Good to see you here.
Hey! No-Techie? NP. It leaves you free to concentrate on what you came here to do...sing. Man, that's its own blessing.
So, hope to catch you inworld sometime.

HOLD THE PRESSES! NEWS RELEASE!
Fiona More Tech-Savie than previously thought
Saw your post over in the MAC Users area. Nice! But, then, I'm a PC user. So, I'm lost when it comes to MACs (and some PCs, too).
