It Coming... the Coffee Spot in Burning Life 2009Hey gang. I put in for a camp in Burning Life 2009, AND GOT ONE!The premise of my camp is to teach people about Live Music in SL. There will be no concerts .. well, not planned anyway. What there will be, I hope, is lively discussions on severel topics, with the public invited to drop in and listen .. maybe even join in. I call it the Burning Life Coffee Spot and it's a tent covered platform, chairs, tables, candles, coffee and donuts. There will be videos running on two screens in the off hours and multimedia/textboards/texture boards available to the presenters during the forums and discussions. We will be using Voice, audio streams and streaming video. I am not taking voluntees, yet. Nor ideas for discussion topics. But, I'm so excited about getting this chance to reach thousands of people (hopefully) who may not otherwise come in contact with us. And I wanted to give you a preview of what I'm thinking. More info coming in a week, after I learn more. Then, I will be asking for help... lots of it. We have until Oct 17th to get organized. I'm hoping for a fun and exciting week during that run. OH! Remember, this is a non-commercial event. No pitches, sales, landmarks, or other promotional items. This makes it a challenge because we all want to promote our stuff. But, it's got to be very general in nature. |

I won't volunteer yet because you're not taking volunteers yet. But if you decide to start taking volunteers, I'll volunteer. lol.
I could log onto a stream, play some tunes, and talk about SL live music in general, some issue, advantages and disadvantages, etc. I'd be too lazy to plan anything out very formal, but would get glad to get on mic and sing and talk some. |

OK .. Project #1 ...
I've created a series of Billboards on the theme "Music Happens" .. it even happens in SL 
Besides the main theme board, rotating through the lead-up slides, I want to have boards with quotes from people in SL .. performers, venue owners, audience members. I'll even welcome some from managers and promoters, if you keep it general  And, I will acknowledge the person and what they do below the quote.
Since it's on a billboard, they need to be less that 500 characters, so the font size is still readable. Plus, they will be rotating through with others .. people will need to be able to read it and think on it in 45 secs. It can be anything about the music .. creation, performing, hosting, promoting (in general), listening. I'd love to hear from all of you .. and your friends, if they don't come here often. Send me a notecard inworld .. Ray Weyland. I need them no later than Oct 10th .. BTW Thanks! It's gonna be fun!
