This time Keiko is back for her own special?  so I hear... anyone have the link to this? keikotakamura The True Life episode won't be airing until sometime in May. HtB keikotakamura I hate to sound like an ingrate, but I want you all to know that MTV only bothered to cover my story because I fit their demographic. I'm a young, hip, 20-something who's doing something CRAZY (playing live in SL). The whole thing isn't so much about my music, it's more about me being a shy recluse who gets encouragement and support from my friends and fans in SL. It was three months of shooting for less than half an hour of an episode. They would come over, tell me to go here, do this, talk about that. That's reality TV for you. But hopefully they got the essence of what I'm going through, and admittedly, I wouldn't have had the cajones to go out and try playing in RL if they weren't constantly hounding me. I'm also hoping that this episode raises the profile of musicians in SL and challenges preconceived notions of SL users. Not all of us are pedophiles and/or jihadists in training, y'know? I mean, right? I think the general consensus was that I was the most "normal". I think my segment was like the feel-good comic relief-y one. Lines like, "I'm not so much excited as I am nauseous" and "I can do the same vacant stare! *stare* ............." are going to go down in history, I think. I'm sad they cut out "I can't tell if I'm smelling pastries or weed." I'm also sad they cut out the Rock-It Room show!! PHILIP FUCKING LINDEN WAS THERE! How could they not show that?! Ah well. So what happened the night of? Lemme tell you. I had a SL show at the exact same time the episode was on, so I got all these IMs from people during my gig. I didn't want to lose potential fans, so I TPed them. Onto the stage. Hahah. My Myspace blew up, and I got like 100+ friend adds. 19 downloads of my one free download song. ZERO MP3S SOLD. Bah. You have nothing at all to be insecure about. ever. I definitely feel your pain about the "room full of voice chatters" - worse yet is places that have really noisy blenders or espresso machines, eek. Just remember, you're not going to be every one's cup of chai all the time everywhere and it's OK. It can be rough, but if you connect with even one or two folks, it can be totally worth it.
