Krell steps up to the mic and yells 'Hellloooo Cleveland!'Hi all - nice to meet you!As an intro, perhaps I should start with my standard inworld bio boilerplate: --- A musician with an extended background, Krell has shared the stage with diverse artists such as Leon Russell and Roomful of Blues, through artists such as Shelley West (Jose' Cuervo, You are a Friend of Mine) and Gus Hardin, to such rockers as Blues Traveler and 38 Special. After such endeavors, Krell has just moved to Second Life. Krell is comfortable singing and playing guitar on anything from Country Blues through firebreathing Shred-fest, with stops in between for Rock, Alternative, Classic and Contemporary Country, as well as many others. With his varied background, there is quite a spectrum to choose from. However, Krell is currently focusing on a solo variety rock'n'blues covers format, accompanying himself on his 12-string. Any given set could include anything from Elvis Costello, Clapton, Beatles, Goo Goo Dolls, Willie Nelson, Toad The Wet Sprocket, Led Zeppelin, Matchbox 20, or even Looking Glass. --- In RL, I gig regularly - typically as vocal/guitar in a rock/country/blues cover trio format. Always have an original project brewing as well. I also fill in for other bands when a member goes ill - again mostly guitar, but sometimes keys, bass, drums, mandolin, etc. Over the years, I had my brushes with the brass ring, but am now content to be a weekend warrior. So what brings me to SL? Unh - I guess it's just that I'm a musician - it's what I do. As explained in my blog (http://myspace.com/krellsl), I pretty much despise 'computer games'. Accordingly, while I have been aware of SL for quie some time, I had no interest whatsoever. Until Zak's article in EM opened my eyes to the possibilities inherent in the system, that is. So now I'm inworld as another avenue to perform. So now I've been inworld for a little over a month, and have started attending some open mics (Merry Prankster and Urbanity) while I get my stream skills together - as well as figure out how to keep track of what's going on in the audience ;^P This forum has been particularly helpful so far in getting up to speed on these issues. And I've only cracked the surface of the knols herein. Thank you all for sharing. I have seen some of y'all perform already, and I hope to meet the rest of all y'all in the coming weeks.
