Maximillion Kleene & Norris Shepherd Played Live

Max and Norris, please correct me if I get any of this wrong. On March 23 of this year, I was searching events for a show to see - saw Maximillion Kleene was playing at Visit Mexico (?) so TP'ed over to catch the end of his show. I immediately bumped into Norris Shepherd over there, who said he had just finished playing with Max in a relay stream (very spontaneous). I missed the whole thing, but fortunately, Norris knew of someone who recorded the event and sent me a link to the MP3. I have since been listening to it a lot b/c it is so freakin cool, and thought I ought to share it with y'all.

Max and Norris have both generously given me permission to do this, so check it out - Maximillion Kleene & Norris Shepherd (Live @ Visit Mexico) 23.03.2008:

... I should have posted a disclaimer here.  Smile

For the forum members who are interested in shredding guitar solos, innovative, new types of music, and pushing musical boundaries... move along, nothing to see there.  Smile  Just a couple guys hanging out singing a few tunes and strumming the guit-boxes.  (please don't reply to this part.. I'm not fishing for compliments.. but that's where things fit)

It's the kind of thing where I'm proud of it and a bit embarrassed of at the same time.

I was really flattering to have Max call me up on stage, but i was pretty frantically plugging in mics, guitars, tuning, and what not.  So it was far from the smoothest 4 or 5 songs ever.   Kind of like the Ramones meeting up at the drum kit between songs and discussing (for them arguing) what song to play next.

What's interesting is how EASY it was to do this.  He just picked up my stream and mixed it into his.  Harder for more interactive, jam based sessions, but fun and easy nonetheless.  The guy downstream just has to take cues from the guy upstream ... and unfortunately.. no visual cues in SL.

The people at his show (and my friends who were able to get in) really enjoyed it.  For the listener, it's a lot of fun.  I made some new friends, and for those who knew me and managed to get into the gig, they really enjoyed it.  Those that couldn't get in where pissed i didn't tell them in advance....

Fun to do as well.  Max plays probly 15 to 20 shows a week, so he is crazy busy.  But i've heard him stream with myself, Chronic, Vienna, Mimi and Dolmere.  Probably others that i don't know of as well.

I've got a list of friends that I'm hoping to stream with soon too.  If only a few songs, or a complete set.

It was WAY more than that, Norris.  Here is that 'cutting edge' that everyone is talking about.   That is sooooooo exciting!!!!!!!!  I'm just totally pumped after listening to it!

And it is a tremendously FUN listen!!  You two are great!!  Smooth performance?  No (though you're both totally awesome, whether you were fishing or not Wink ) .  Whole lotta fun and very real excitement (the cutting edge bit) Hell YEAH!!!
