Nicecast built-in server help please

Hi ALL,

Just wondering about this built-in server and how it works.

* Can you stream out using the built-in server for free? ie. without buying your own stream?
* What should the settings for the built-in server be? I think I knocked mine out somehow...
* I currently have my own stream but would like to use the built-in server mainly due to:
a) practice without people listening to my main stream
b) see how many people are listening or stay in control and see who is listening. This feature only appears for the built-in stream.
c) if I stop using a stream in SL I can still use the built-in server one

I'm also concious of people having my current 'paid for' stream details...u know after giving it to friends/venues etc...especially when I'm practicing...there is a chance someone may be listening....is there a way to see who is listening? I have seen there are hidden features to kick and use passwords...but is that just for the built-in server?

I've asked before but I read somewhere that some guy Luke was creating a wiki for Nicecast - anyone got any links to it?

Appreciate help from anyone who uses and/or knows Nicecast.

Many Thanks,
Slim Warrior

Vlad, you can use the built in server yes,  Nicecast will tell you how many  listeners your computer can handle listening in.
You can check number of listeners connected  on the server box .
The  default settings will be on the server box. when you click the circle on the tabbed drawer.
If you stop using your paid stream when performing, in the middle of a show, your comp would only allow up to maybe 8 listeners to hear you on the stream changeover to built in server...... or crash Wink

I wouldn't worry to much about people listening in to your stream when you are practicing..  the chances are rare esp at a venue which may change the stream several times a week and wouldn't put your details in unless you are performing there.

If  you need any more help with Nicecast just ask away. The wiki unfortunately hasn't happened, but I can help as best I can Smile and there are also a few more Nicecast users  in the forums too who can help as well.
