Video StreamingLive Video Streaming.
Many of us have at some point have been filmed in some way in SL either for a performance or Music video for a certain song, as our virtual avatars, but what about when you want to run a Live feed into SL : ie, you want to be seen on your web cam in SL?
For streaming Live into SL via web cam, the only one so far to do this is Veodia
http://www.veodia.com/site/index.php.
A basic ( beta) account is free and will host up to around 5 viewers in SL. To up the rate of viewers of course you have to pay, at time of me posting, the approx cost was around $300 dollars for 6 hours feed and up to 200 viewers, so possibly NOT the most cost effective solution to the majority of us.
Now there has been a flood on the internet market with Live video applications on your browsers ( Home TV studios) But so far these do NOT allow the conversion to quicktime which is needed to stream into SL. But you can run them concurrently. ie: Viewers can log into SL to watch/listen to your virtual self OR they can watch on the web browser station.
I have used a couple of these so I have listed a few links for you to get you started.
Each application is free to use. At the end of the day they all have great features and some not so great. It’s up to you to find the one that you are most comfortable with.
