I keep the streaming application open onscreen where i can monitor the 'input levels'. The voice usually keeps it around -5 or so... but on louder parts, i just pull further away from the mic, or sing a bit away from the mic. (easier to do if you play standing up, of course... don't fall backwards if you play on your guitar stool...) |
I do this too! Glad I've also thought to do it... since i do go into a belt every now and then. I also use the mic technic of moving closer and away. And in fact mostly sing slightly away from the mic... quite different from RL tecnique where u need to be very close to your dynamic mic, often leaving lipstick stains on it! _________________ PhoeNix

Yes, Phoenix, my mates really get annoyed when I leave lipstick stains on the mic at the pub. Anyway, I did try the NLB technique (Norris Lean Back) at a gig at Sailors Cove a few weeks ago and metaphorically fell off my perch. Still, it all added to the fun of what was turning out to be an hilarious evening. _________________ Real life website http://www.lewismusic.co.uk |
