i need to learn how to put all my stuff into one post...
Ok Everyone, I would appreicate any Newspapers/ SL Radio that you know are still active and would be willing to runa advert abotu B2R.
i kow there is a list on the forum, but i thought if i asked here, then people could reccomend those they know are active. to save me time and cos im a lazy git...

another point from me
somethign i never really thought about.. If any of the acts would prefer to be known in the Real gig by thier SL name only, let me know and i can change the poster, before i send it out 
its not a big issue

Just some updates.
Tickets are now on sale - via the website, we have had lots of interest, we need to know turn interest into Sales
Drake Music Project - Drake have now listed the event in thier news page - http://www.drakemusicproject.org/newsdetail.asp?nstoryid=96
Ents24 - Ents24 is a well used Entertainment website and the event is listed there. I just need to make one change as they think our Mike, is a different Mike Peters (The Alarm) - whoever he is???
Oxford Mail - The local Rag wants to run a story on the event, i should be meeting with the reporter this week.
Advertising - Advertising in the local papers is going to work out expensive, i am hoping that through the above article i can raise some sponsorship to cover those costs, i am also looking for anyone who can put a advert of the event anywhere - papers, radio, in and ot of SL.
Back 2 Reality Website Issue - DD has informed me that the ad bar on top of the website is a bit dodgy, so please dont use it - i cannot remove it, due to the fact the B2R website is hosted with freewebs, which obviously makes its money from that crap.
SecondLife 5th Birthday - If you are performing at the event, can you please mention B2R once and try and get people forward to the website, i am trying to get to events if i can and pushing it that way.
Further to that, if anyone has any questions on anything, please let me know

Currently on the B2R website, the top ad bar is a scam, dont click it when it says you have 2 messages from someone in your area.
Bubbs... im working on the website angle.
Gonna check it for ya to get the same domain
and off of their hosting.
I'm guessing if you want the site through august
everything wouldn't be more than $2000L

the domain isnt a problem, i own it and can direct to any site, but i created the website using the freewebs site creator.
At the moment though, looking at the stats - the site is not attracting enough visitors, we need to get people on and get them buying tickets

Fantastic job you are doing so far Bubbs
I am giving full details including the gig and the website at every SL gig I do.
I am also doing or intend to do the following...
- Put the event on my own website with a link to B2R
- Post the gig to my wall on www.thesixtyone.com with a link to B2R
- Post the gig as an event and to my comments on my myspace page
I think all the acts on the night should do the same thing...and...maybe UK SL acts who aren't on the lineup for that gig might do it too in anticipation of this event being a success and leading to future gigs where they are on the lineup.
But one truism that DD has raised here in the past is that you have to talk to folks to get them enthused. Forums and stuff are easily read and forgetten by yer average apathetic avatar. There is no substitute for legwork..or in this case tonguework..anyone out there any good at tonguework?

I spoke to two pretty biggish music shops in oxford, both are interested in providing some sponsorship - though i am not holding my breath, it may be something.

i'm pretty certain I have the email for each SL publication, media outlet, forum, blog, etc.... When I have a formal press release, I'm definitely going to hit my list of contacts.
If you start to think about "running an advert" what are you trying to accomplish with it? People reading about SL aren't going to read about a RL event, and then attend. .... I think the approach to think about would be to get the press release completed early, and get it sent out ASAP, so then there's time for them to contact you for an interview. And that's how you get your promo.
JMO, but I really don't forsee there being to many costs other than getting everything organized at the RL location. Yes, I believe it would be good to reach the RL local papers in that area and make sure the event is posted

Ok, The Promo Bus is on the road.
Starting this Weds, a host of Back 2 Reality "Introduction" Concerts, featuring acts from the concert at different venues.
The First One Here:
Lets see where the bus can go, me personally am going to bed right now (6.50am)
