ok, i finally got some details on the PA system, although it means nothing to me, but it should hopefully mean something to you
Desk is a Heath 24.4.2 and he has a Range me mics, plus 3 monitor speakers.
i then assume, we just link this into the club sound system?? _________________ I love Latex... |

Hi guys - just belatedly got onto this thread.
is the sound man bringing the abovementioned or is that part of the house PA?
is there a house PA? (if there isn't or there is a problem we have one)
who is doing the sound? can we talk to them directly to sort out the details?
how long are the performance slots? 5pm-12pm is 7 hours (looong gig) - divided by 8 performers is less than an hour each including changeover time. so about 40mins plus v quick changeover?
sorry if these questions have been answered elsewhere, feel free to redirect me! _________________ http://www.pillowfish.co.uk

The Soundman is bringing the above stuff and will plug into the Club's PA (but i dont have any idea yet what that is - will find out next week)

Oxford ODS, i will get Ian's number next week and just make sure he is happy with me to pass it out

Set times will be around the 40 min mark, the majority are acoustic instruments and Barak, Fable and Djai are practically running back to back, which means that could add to the time in between acts, although i would like to keep this to a minimum and smooth as possible, to keep crowd interest high
some other questions that have popped up

Doors open at 5pm, i will be there from 11am - so any time in this window is good, i will be there all day/ _________________ I love Latex... |

Ok another update.
with just over 3 weeks to go untill the event, tickets have began to sell, but not as quick as i thought, can everyone please try plugging the event as much as possible, even if it just getting people to the website, I know there has been a lot of interest in this event, but transfering it to ticket sales is not happening.
if you can let people know, there is a limit on advanced tickets - this might help them decided to buy a ticket now
manyh thanks _________________ I love Latex... |

just another update.
Ticket sales have been almost non-exitent and to be completly honest i am contemplating postponing the event to a future date, the only thing that has stopped me is that i know people are booked on flights, hotels etc.
there has been a lot of interest in this event, however it just has now tranformed into ticket sales, 300 people may turn up at the event itself, but I have no way to guarantee this.
we will just have to see.

Ok, i have had a thought.
And i am afriad that i am going to have to postpone this event to a future date. There is just not enough tickets been sold.
The exact figure of tickets sold: 4, yes FOUR
Like i said in my earlier post, i can not guarantee if any more will turn up on the night itself and I cant help but think that all the artists are travelling 100's of miles to play to a practially dead venue, it just is not fair.
I really am so sorry that this has happened, i was as excited as all of you to be a part of this, i also feel for the charity who are also going to lose out.
I also apoligise to those who like myself booked hotel rooms, flights etc and i will do my upmost to cover these costs for the new date.
which brings me to my new point, Slim hosts Live Music at The Bedford, a acclaimed music venue in London http://www.thebedford.co.uk
She is going to talk to the management this week about hosting B2R there at a future date. mosre will come from that hopefully.
Again, i apoligise for all of this and hope that everyone can maintain some faith in me, that i CAN bring everyone together for this gig.

I haven't organised acoustic pub gigs for some while now but I used to do a lot of it back in the 1980s. More recently, I have played at quite a few poorly attended gigs locally, as well as at some rewardingly lively ones. I think live acoustic music in the English pub scene is very unpredictable. It is possible you could have had a lot of people turn up on the night, but there is no guarantee for that, especially if they have to pay.
I think these are tough decisions to make and I applaud the fact that you, as the organiser, had the courage to make this one ahead of time (it would indeed have been a long journey for me to drive just to play to an empty pub). So thanks for the advanced notice and I hope that your future endeavours are more fruitful. _________________ Real life website http://www.lewismusic.co.uk |
