LMAO!! haha. I love that. so familiar in many jobs in my life, be it a $12usd stream or customer service handling a restaurant or an angry mother of the bride at a wedding.

like, I get that people depend on things, and need to depend on things. I get it, and do it myself. But what I don't get is when people want to blame a human for a system error. It'd be so much easier if the humans banded together to fight the machine. What the hell do they think the manager is gonna do? If it's so important that they solve the problem quicky, what is the point of waisting time telling the manager that the rep isn't doing a good job? I'm sure if the rep can't help, they go get the manager.

Crying or Very sad + Idea Idea = Laughing

but Evil or Very Mad + Shocked = Twisted Evil

Funny, funny stories. Smile

On a bigger picture, a lot of this can be blamed on the level of familiarity the user has with the technology. I've been doing stuff with building web sites and using audio streaming for many years, so I'd never jump down a provider's throat when the stream went down... it's not like he/she capriciously decided to flip a switch and turn my stream off. Very Happy

I'm still looking around, but will probably make a long-term choice (i.e. multiple months) soon.

PLEASE LET ME FIND A MONTHLY I CAN POINT TO MY MP3 ON MY HOST AND PLAY IT AUTO DJ!!!! I HAVE 67 hours of indie music that I have permission to stream podcast etc. PLEASE PLEASE!!!

edit to add:
I have used JO since I started 6/06
and I love it, it is a high $ one comparatively and I am always looking for better cost (note U stream it) so I am up for suggestions as well that are lower cost with the same results.

I used Jamie Otis for $4000L a month for 100 listeners up until last week. I switched to PJ, because by paying six months ahead I got 120 listeners for $12,000L. That's 1/2 the cost, and since I want to make money playing, costs count. So far the service has been rock-solid and he's been very responsive. Jamie was really great to work with, but when it came to 50% less, I had to switch. Its the "business" part of "music business" that made me switch. As long as the service is the same, then I've made a good move. So far, so good. PJ advertises on SLExchange.com, and was also recommended to me from a couple of other players.

I use NEO, 100 listener 128kbps at 2,500L a month.  I can't remember ever having a problem with it going down and the couple of times I've checked on it there was someone online to handle my inquiry.

I use the Stream Team (Ed Lowell / Amy Fergson).  $5155L monthly for 1000 listeners.  I want the capacity because of the type of events I hold at Eden Ballroom every so often.  I've been using it for about three months and have found it to be more reliable than previous streams and the support is excellent.
