I realized after I posted that I had referred repeatedly and solely to SL.  This is really because that's where my experience of the metaverse is.  I have looked around more generally, but find that I prefer to focus on the people and biz aspects rather than the tech and creative aspects.  That's where my strength is.  This, I'm able to do primarily via SL, hence my references.

But the idea I was trying to get across is not unique to SL.  It's a big and complex metaverse (which is why I focus so tightly on SL's buggy and frustrating little corner) and I suspect that what I describe as not being possible in SL is even less possible in the wider metaverse, Google notwithstanding.  There are just WAAAY too many ways to Google a thing (as evidenced by Komu and Lyndon above, my guess, they used slightly different phrasing, variables, options and default or security settings).  It's not that the info doesn't exist...it's that too much info and to many ways to access it and get different results exist.  In short, info overload.

So my point that new methods of control, measurement and credit should be looked for and the old methods that counted on newpapers (usually one to a town), a few network tv stations and a smattering of paper magazines for dissemination (in short, very narrow info pathways) will have to be set aside.

And just so I'm clear....I'm not advocating a free for all metaverse where no one gets credit and folks are free to steal one another's ideas.  Credit should go to those who earn it.  But the credit due here is not for the name of either show, it's for the original artistry contained in both shows.   Lets not get side tracked  Very Happy
