The Second Life ™ Live Music Community (SLMC) forum is intended to be as open and free a public forum as is possible to allow for the free flow of information, ideas and opinions relating to the Second Life ™ Live Music Community. To meet this goal, moderation of this forum will be as minimal as possible.
When you created your account, you agreed to not post any “abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, hateful, threatening, sexually-oriented or any other material that may violate any applicable laws.” and you will be held to that agreement. However, this must not be interpreted to mean that forum moderators will intervene in personal disputes between forum posters UNLESS there is clearly slanderous, hateful (according to the legal definition of a hate crime, not personal dislike of another forum participant) or other activity or material involved which violates applicable laws.
All participants in this forum are expected to monitor their own behavior within the virtual walls of the forum.
You also agreed that the webmaster, administrator and moderators of this forum have the right to remove, edit, move or close any topic at any time should they see fit and the SLMC forum administration reserves this right and will implement at our sole discretion. However, as in any forum, it is expected there will be differences of opinion. Posts will not be amended or deleted by forum moderators UNLESS those posts are clearly off-topic spam (not SL Music community related), contain someone’s personal and private real life information (such as, but not limited to, a real life name, address or phone number), or are in clear violation of laws regarding hate crimes and/or intolerance based on race, gender, sexual orientation, or any other legally protected group.
Posts will not be deleted by the forum moderators simply because one or more forum participants disagrees with the content of the post even when those participants are, or include, the administrators or moderators themselves.
Because the main body of this forum is intended as an information resource for new people joining the Second Life ™ Live Music Community, it is anticipated that most posters will have, at some time in their participation in the SLMC, contributed to a thread which intended to help or inform newcomers. Deletion of posts from such a thread would be harmful to the mission of the SLMC and would serve to make threads difficult to read and understand and in some cases, may lead to the newcomer being misinformed or misled.
Because of this, and in keeping with the above policy regarding forum administration’s reluctance to edit or delete posts, forum administrators will not delete a participant’s account subsequent to that participant posting in the SLMC forums for any reason, including at the request of the poster.
We reserve the right to amend these guidelines at any time:
