|
|
So... seems my 1/8th inch ins on my PC are gettin a little screwey from all the wire pullin in and out.... usually is a problem with most 1/8th inch stuff...
so, what to do?
is there a certain brand that makes a quality 1/8th inch adapter so it'll fix the jiggly problem?
should i take apart my computer?
should I get my soundcard replaced? _________________ DJ Doubledown on The Sixty-One ~ SL DJ & Club Scene Blog

Honestly, replace the sound card. That's my advice, because otherwise its really easy to mess it up trying to re-solder on it, etc. |

Something else you might want to consider is the use of a USB audio interface that connects through one of your USB plugs. An example of a relatively inexpensive one is the TASCAM US-144.
If the balance is replacing the soundcard then it could make financial sense to consider this. One thing that may tip the balance is that I've never seen a decent audio interface that uses mini-plugs and most support 1/4-inch, XLR, and sometimes MIDI. Plus this will keep the problem fixed as those mini-plugs will likely fail again on a new card if you don't change whatever you're doing that broke the current one. _________________ Ever vigilant for da gooses overhead.

thanks Von Johin and Silas. It's still under warranty, so defintitely gonna fix the soundcard...
but also I've always had this general question.... how do you fix a 1/8th inch in? walkmans, cd players, any headphones... eventually the 1/8th inch goes bad. Do you know of the company that makes the "best" adapters? Because honestly, when I buy wires or adapters, I'm usually in a rush, and I buy what I need ASAP without noticing the company.
And thanks Silas, yes, I do have the external which I use, and I've been using all the time now. _________________ DJ Doubledown on The Sixty-One ~ SL DJ & Club Scene Blog
