Hi Smile  I have a live artist using Winamp with the Shoutcast plug in to stream his shows...is there any way to record from that?  He needs separate recording software, doesn't he?  Any suggestions?

Thank you Smile

I know that on my Simplecast, which is a standalone (combines both Shoutcast with Winamp), I can configure to save the stream as mp3 onto my hard disk. That's how I've been rehearsing and sound checking on my own, to make sure the levels and amount of fx used are alright in the final mix.

Perhaps there is a way to configure your Winamp to record or save the mp3 stream onto your harddisk too?

I'd say Simplecast sounds like the best option.   If I ever record my DJ sets, I do it internally in Traktor, but when recording from more than once source, for instance Reason, Ableton and Rebirth at the same time, I use Adobe Audition.

You might want to get him to check out Audacity, it's like Audition, but not *as* good, however it is free Wink

I'd totally say no to recording with winamp.  Personally, Komuso's choice is my favorite
