Release 12/12/2008:
Second Life musician Winston Ackland releases groundbreaking music video today.
Popular performer Winston Ackland releases his first music video today for his signature song “All the little Fishies”. The “fishies” video distinguishes itself from other music oriented machinima projects in that it goes far beyond the usual live performance music video. “All the little Fishies” has a narrative and acting as well as rich cinematography and a studio-produced audio track.
Today’s release is the result 6 months of planning, building, filming and editing by director Sesi Ackland and machinimist Toxic Menges. Menges brought machinima experience to the set of “Fishies” and was very much a creative partner to first time director Sesi Ackland. This ambitious project, featuring elaborate sets and wardrobe, was shot in high definition at Twas, Rainy Town and Rez.

Just my opinion....but it is certainly the best I have seen using SL as the focus. (not saying no one else has done something special...just saying I have not seen it - I want to make that clear lol).
I am sure many people will now look beyond 'video' of someone standing on stage performing - because once you have seen one cartoon standing on a stage with a guitar....
Anyway - excellent work and congratulations to all involved. I think this really does raise the bar of SL music Video. _________________ TC |
