SECOND LIFE SUMMER FLING THING
AKA MONTREAL MUSICIANS MIXER
A musical gathering for the lovers of live music in SecondLife in the west end of Montreal. July 25th.2009. We are planning a day long event for the purpose of hanging out , playing some tunes, streaming short sets into SL and performing an evening show to the public at large.
The event will be held in a comfortable hall that seats approx. 130 people with a good PA system, lighting and stage. The costs are quite reasonable for the hall rental and this in turn will keep the cost of the event to L$10,000 Lindens per participant if paid in advance or $40.00 Canadian if paid at the door. This is really meant to be a social event and hence any profits after expenses will be donated to a local charity. We are hoping to have a catered BBQ which can be added as an extra to your registration fee.
Inexpensive/no-frills accomodations (college dorm room type) are available within walking distance of the hall where the events are taking place.
If there is enough interest we may be able to have a mixer at a local bar /restaurant the evening of July 24th .
For more information, IM Montian Gilruth, Mimi Carpenter, Maximillion Kleene, or Bree Birke for registration information

Thanks for posting that, Norris!
Add Mash Rhode and Jase Branner to that list
I'm keeping it updated (within a day or so) on the web. Folks who are interested in finding out more can find signup kiosks (no obligation, no sl group required) at Nitida Ridge, HIPS and at some participating musicians' concerts. _________________ --

The Schedule for the Montreal Shows are out!! Two stages, one day and a ton of music.
It is lining up to be a lot of fun, and it looks like they are going to try to stream all the sets into SL at the venues listed. All times are SL times.
I think there is still room if anyone wants to attend. Best bet would be to IM Montian Gilruth, Bree Birke, or Mimi Carpenter if you are interested in going to the shows!

Thanks Silas, but just to clarify i did very little for the organization of this other than posting here and pushing it at my shows.
Montian Gilruth is in Montreal and did a bunch of work on it, Mimi Carpenter, Max Kleene and Bree Birke are the ones that I know of that did most the work.
I'm just along for the ride.... _________________ http://www.NorrisShepherd.com |

Well, congrats to whoever did it! (laughs)
Extending SL to RL is of high interest to me and I'll have some thoughts on that in the next few months. For various reasons, it's not practical right now. One of those reasons is that it would be a threadjack.
You all break yer legs and be careful with that alcohol. I've heard stories about that stuff. _________________ Silas Scarborough
