Rayzer's Rock God Guitar Hud is now available. There is a demo at Rayzer's Rock Quarry Animations http://slurl.com/secondlife/Sukhumvit/162/106/21
This hud ROCKS!! I think you will like it. A remote is planed for the future
to work with the hud for live musicians.
Give it a try.... See what you think.
To try the demo you can use the demo guitar which is already set up to
use with the hud or you can make acopy of your guitar and attach it to your left shoulder and then use the alignment pose on the hud to position the guitar. Then the next thing to do is ROCK N ROLLLLLL!!!!!!

Does this thing really, really rock and if so then how so??

To rock for me, it must have:

- Must have mod / copy / no trans perms
- Must support whatever rock god dances i've got already
- Must shoot flames
- Preferably also shoots laser beams
- Must do other cool stuff that your devious mind concocted

I also want to be able to press a button and rez a dragon over the audience.

Hey Silas,
Why don't you come to the store and try the HUD. I know you haven't.
And sorry but there are no perms on it. You don't need to mod it, and yes
it will work with your existing external animations. No, it doesn't shoot flames or laser beams or rez dragons, but if you want to rock then this HUD is for you. You can have all of the bells and whistles you want in other huds and 50 + anims, but if you want animation that is very high
quaility created by an animator and not somebody who happens to own a
animation program then this hud is for you. And yes, it makes your Av rock. Rayzer's Rock GOD Guitar HUD currently contains the best guitar animation available in second Life. If you don't believe me then come to the store and try the Demo HUD.
Or you can use the same old stiff head banging anims that you currently use and get left behind. The choice is yours.

Oh and shooting flames, lightning bolts, and rezzing dragons over the audience might look kool, but causes lag, and that doesn't rock.
See you at the store.
Have a good one man...  Whatever you choose .... KEEP ON ROCKING!

hmmmm i went an had a look......mainly cos Silas shot at it without trying??!!  Rolling Eyes
and ...hmmm actually i think its one of the best guitar huds ive come across, cool ani and clever idea to be able to mix an match a ""rock" pose an use diff torso an legs movements.....SLICK !!!!!
tho the vast majority of SL live musos are of the acoustic guitar types....so any chance of same clever ideas, but in a more restrained manner?....or maybe single animations for sale that i could slip in an existing hud??
but aye....pretty neat, most ive come across use the same old versions of animations...
does look a bit silly wen i rezzed my acoustic.....but for the Rockers out there, its well worth a dabble  Wink  Wink

I can't comment on the hud, based on BB's comments, I'm betting it's totally cool and I hope to get a chance to judge for myself one day when some rocker uses it on my stage.

But I do want to correct a very common misconception.  Particles do not cause lag on the server/sim side.  Particles cause lag on the client side lag ONLY (that means on your pc) and that's easily addressed by those with slower graphic cards adjusting their preferences or pressing Shift Ctrl Alt = all at the same time.  For those with mid to high end graphics cards, particles are no problem at all.

The script generating the particles can cause lag, but that's bad scripting and any badly scripted object will cause lag.  I once had a single candle crash my sim over and over and over.

So in short, particles do NOT cause sim/server lag, only client side lag which is easily dealt with on the client side.

Now, if the guitar is rezzing prim flames, lasers and dragons, yeppers, it will cause lag.  But I've never seen one that generates anything but particles.  So lets stop giving particles a bad rap  Wink

And Blindboy... I will be working on an accoustic version of the hud asap.
You are not the only one that has requested that from me.
All of you... thanks for the input.
