Hi Kotana! Welcome to the forum!
You're best bet is to look around for open mics. Look through the announcements section here on the forum, you'll find some that way. Depending on your time zone, I would recommend the Hummingbird Cafe. That's an American venue, so it's real late for Europeans but a lot of them do go to the effort of staying up that late! For the Hummingbird, contact DimiVan Ludwig or Leira Vaughn.
Maybe some of your fellow musicians here can suggest some others? _________________ Joy is in the ears that hear

Heya.. i'd check out this thread.. a few there. http://slmc.myfastforum.org/forum56.php There are some other similar threads i think, but i didn't bother to look for them as I'm sure you've already done a search.
If you want places to perform, you should have no problem finding places. If you are looking for places to hire you, you might have a harder time, regardless of skill level, if you are just starting out. There's all kinds of threads on that kind of stuff in here too. lol.
Other than 'open mics' I'd just search live music events, check a bunch out, and try to find venues that have musicians doing the kind of stuff you are doing, or as close as possible. Find out who runs the venue, or who is hosting, then IM them. Don't expect to get 'hired' (i.e. paid) if you are contacting the venue though...
Just thought.. i think there is also a listing of open mics in the Music Matters magazine. http://mattersofmusic.com/ It's near the back of the magazine. I'd check earlier editions of the mag to see is any different ones are listed there as well.
Good luck. I'll keep an ear and eye out for ya and hope to catch a set soon. _________________ http://www.NorrisShepherd.com |
