Someone on the e-mail list suggested I post this here.

An example of creative marketing in music, I pre-released my new CD to my fans last night. (using secondtunes.com CD vendors) These are just raw tracks off the studio console. Unmastered at this time. There are even some outtakes and blatant mistakes. I wanted to include my fans into the process of picking tracks and song order and final production of a CD. I invited every on the pre-release list to Landon Arts, my store, and we hung out for two hours while I streamed the new CD onto my land. 22 CDs were sold, and I still have another 30 people who are on my list wanting the CD, who weren't able to show up last night. I am setting up a website forum to discuss song order and songs. Then I will thank everyone on the final CD (either avatar name or real name) I have a lot of other ideas on how to promote my music and my message in SL. I will share them as I accomplish them.

It's quite an interesting approach you have taken. It's not one I would like to take myself but involving your fans personally in the selection of material and the dynamics of the CD has probably never been tried before and it's quite a novel approach. Good luck with it!
